Benjamin J. Connors, Esq.



The General Building Contractors Association has served its members as a leader in the construction industry for over 125 years. As President of GBCA, Ben Connors is focused on building upon that reputation. Since joining GBCA in 2014 Ben has utilized his expertise in advocacy and labor relations to help to shape the strategic growth of the association. In 2015 Ben became President of GBCA and embarked upon an aggressive expansion of member service.  Ben leads GBCA’s expert staff and dedicates his time to carrying out the strategic vision of GBCA’s Board of Directors.

In his capacity as President of GBCA, Ben serves as a trustee for a multitude of union benefits and training funds, totaling in excess of $5 billion in assets under management. Ben is active in many industry and professional associations. He currently serves as a board member of the ACE Mentor Program, the Center for Architecture and Design, Chamber of Commerce of Greater Philadelphia, The March of Dimes Annual Transportation, Building & Construction Awards Luncheon, and Associated General Contractors of America’s Executive Leadership Committee, where he serves as a board member and the Northeast Regional Chair.

As a Philadelphia native and avid student of history, Ben dedicates his time as a board member of the Penn Treaty Museum and as an affiliate member of the Carpenters Company of the City and County of Philadelphia.

Ben holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Rutgers University, where he majored in both Political Science and Labor Studies. Ben also holds a Juris Doctorate from Rutgers Camden School of Law, where he was elected by his peers to serve as the Student Bar Association President. He recently earned the 2019 Young & Aspiring Professional Award from Association Trends.  

Ben lives in Cherry Hill, New Jersey with his wife, Zoe and their twin son and daughter. He enjoys traveling, Philadelphia sports, and spending time with his family.

Lance Claiborne

Director, Industry Relations


Lance brings a broad range of experience in the technical and government regulatory aspects of development to GBCA. As Director of Industry Relations, Lance serves as a resource to GBCA membership on matters of politics, labor and association relations. Lance earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Carnegie Mellon University in addition to completing graduate coursework in the areas of Urban Design and Public Policy.

Prior to joining GBCA, Lance worked in various roles with the City of Harrisburg, PA in both the Executive and Legislative Branches of Government spanning two Administrations.  Lance worked closely with the local development community in his role within the Bureau of Planning and with elected officials in the office of City Clerk and City Council.

Originally from the Philadelphia area, Lance enjoys volunteering with local non-profits, rooting for Philadelphia sports teams and vacationing with his family.

Kristin DeFrancisco

Vice President, Operations & Finance


Kristin brings a wealth of knowledge to GBCA from a wide experience in various financial management roles. Her capabilities have extended across non-profit, mortgage banking, automotive industry supply, and most recently engineering design platforms. Kristin holds a Bachelor degree in Finance from Michigan State University. She is also a member of the Project Management Institute. Kristin is a Philadelphia resident and leads an active lifestyle; she enjoys walking, running, or cycling on the Schuylkill Banks Trail.

Frank Durso

Director, Safety Services


Frank comes to GBCA with over 17 years of field experience in the petro-chemical refining and industrial construction-related industries as a Union Boilermaker. He’s spent the last 10 years as an Industrial Health and Safety Manager in the industrial construction and petro chemical industries, heavy highway, and bridge construction. Most recently, he worked as a Safety Manager for Richard E. Pierson Construction Company, Inc.. He managed safety for demolition and heavy highway construction projects and provided safety guidance for multiple trades such as operating engineers, carpenters, and laborers. Frank is a certified occupational safety specialist who also holds OSHA 500, OSHA Outreach Trainer, and OSHA 5600 Disaster Site Trainer certifications. Frank has also completed the DuPont Safety Training Observation Program (STOP) for supervision.

Frank lives with his wife of 17 years and their 2 children on their small farm in New Jersey. In his free time, between ice skating with his daughter and cub scouts with his son, he restores antique cars and occasionally likes to go fishing.

Lauren Hanan

Director, Marketing and Communications


Lauren, a Philadelphia-area native, brings over 15 years of marketing and public relations experience to GBCA, and a wide range of knowledge of the Philadelphia region. Her role at GBCA consists of directing all creative design; coordinating a cohesive media buy; publishing the Construction Today MagazineGBCA Annual Report, and the Membership Directory; planning the Annual Meeting, Golf Outing, Construction Excellence Awards, and all networking events; creating and implementing sponsorships; managing all social media outlets; overseeing all website communications, including the GBCA Blog; and directing all other communications and touch points that position GBCA as the leading advocacy organization with the best trained, most skilled and most trusted construction professionals in the industry.  

Lauren’s previous experience was largely based in the tourism and hospitality industries, and includes experience in digital/ interactive, public relations, social media, branding and creative direction. She earned her Master of Arts: Professional Communications, at LaSalle University and a Bachelor of Arts: Journalism, Public Relations and Advertising, at Temple University. She also completed the BMG Executive Leadership Development Program, focusing on hiring, coaching and development of staff, performance management, leadership, project management, business case development, and organizational development. Lauren is a member of the Society for Marketing Professional Services.  

In addition to her full-time dedication to GBCA's marketing department, she moonlights as a Cycling and Zumba instructor. Her favorite past times include soaking up sun and visiting wineries. She resides in Washington Township, NJ with her husband, Mike, and her two French Bulldogs, Lola and JJ.

Angela Hendrix

Director, Education and Professional Development


Angela brings 10+ years of event experience to help further cement GBCA’s position as industry leaders in education and professional development. With expertise in program development, promotion, and execution, Angela comes to GBCA from the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, where she orchestrated events with upwards of 700+ attendees, servicing the association’s more than 4,000 member companies.

In addition to running GBCA’s educational programs, seminars and workshops, Angela handles the tuition reimbursement and scholarship programs, and the workforce development efforts of the association.

Angela sits on the Philadelphia University, Drexel University, and Community College of Philadelphia Construction Management Advisory Committees. She is also a volunteer for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Eastern PA.

Angela earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Temple University’s Fox School of Business, and lives in South Philadelphia. She enjoys traveling abroad, Philly sports teams, and renovating her South Philly row home with her husband.

Byron Lee

Marketing Manager


Byron brings to the GBCA a wide range of experience in communication and education. As the Marketing Coordinator, Byron provides support to the Marketing Director in implementing the GBCA’s marketing plan and communication activities. Byron earned a graduate degree in Mass Media and Communication from Temple University. He ran the business writing center at Temple University’s Fox School of Business, and taught undergraduate courses in critical writing at the University of Pennsylvania. He occasionally teaches at Temple University and continues to do research in media and cultural studies.

Anne Liberto

Director, Membership Development & Services


Anne comes to GBCA with over 25 years of experience in Development, Marketing, Sales, and Community Relations within the education, retail, and healthcare fields. Her expertise in fundraising and relationship building position her as the ideal candidate for the Membership Development & Services position. At GBCA, Anne works to identify potential membership and business opportunities. She also leads business development activities and  maintains a cohesive membership development program. Anne holds a Bachelor of Arts, Communications degree from Rowan University. She plays an active role in her community, serving as a founding member and officer of the Hammonton Education Foundation.

Diane Reynolds

Executive Assistant


Diane is a Philadelphia area native, and joined GBCA in February 2017 to provide executive support to the President.  Previously she worked as the Investment Coordinator with the Annenberg Foundation, handling the administrative activities involved with managing $1.5 billion investment portfolio.  She has wide-ranging experience as an Executive Assistant in the Banking, Equipment Leasing, and Insurance industries and as a result has acquired a broad base of knowledge in administrative support.  She lives in Wyncote, PA with her husband and enjoys yoga, traveling, dining out, and staying active with their two rescue dogs, Gretl and Uno.

Roseann Rotz

Administrative Assistant


Roseann Rotz has been with GBCA for over 30 years. During this time, Roseann has supported the Labor, Safety, Education, Administration, Executive, Communication and Government Affairs. Roseann resides in Gloucester Township, New Jersey with her husband and two white German Shepherds, Gabby & Lily.
